Philosophy of Care: Open communication with a holistic approach to provide the best possible outcome for each patient

My goal as a gastroenterologist is to improve a patient's well being by diagnosing and managing conditions that are related to the digestive tract. I aim to deliver a holistic approach to healthcare by listening and learning about the patient and their lifestyle. I make recommendations based on the whole patient and not a particular illness, disease or symptom. My passion is diagnosing and treating various GI ailments such as GERD/heartburn, anemia, abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, constipation, diarrhea, GI bleeding, elevated liver tests and many others.

I grew up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and enjoy giving back to my community. Apart from English, I am fluent in Hindi and Gujarati. I attended Loyola University Chicago for my undergraduate studies in molecular biology. I thereafter pursued medical school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove,  residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology from Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois. I am dual board certified in the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. I am also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology.
